- How long will it take for me to get up and running?
That really depends on you. If you are truly earnest about starting your business, you could be up and running quite quickly. You must have the UFDD for at least 14 days prior to sending in your payment, there are 10 days of mandatory training at our headquarters, and then we can have a representative go to your store for 2 additional weeks of assistance and training while you open your doors. Keep in mind that booking your training in Georgia is contingent upon available training slots, as classes are limited to 10 students per week, and training slots are booked on a first come-first served basis (with those franchisees who send in payment and UFDD first getting "first dibs" on the training slots of their choice, when available). *Remember, of course, that you will already need to have secured a location for your store and have the equipment on your premises prior to our representatives arrival at your location. - What type of training will I get?
Your training will cover the operational, the technical, and the business side of the business.
Initial training will consist of 2 weeks in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains at our company headquarters in Jasper, Georgia. Graphics training and the technical "how to" of the sign and imprint technologies coupled with 2 days of business training.
1 week in an actual working facility where you will work side by side with an existing facility owner.
Up to 2 weeks in your new facility of OJT to help you acclimate to your new role and to introduce you to our proprietary marketing strategies to get you aff to a running start.
After you complete the initial training you will recieve your Visual Communications Certification.
Post opening, videos of the training you recieved will be available 24/7 as well as tutorials of specific technical aspects that you can review on your schedule. You will also get a priority toll free number to call when you have any questions, and you are welcome to attend refresher classes at no charge. - How long does it take to open my store?
About a month to six weeks. From day one of obtaining permits and licenses, to you being in business with your doors open, the entire process should take less than a six weeks. Your initial groundwork will be to find a location. As it takes approximately 6 weeks to open your store, training will be booked on a first come, first served basis as the deposits and contracts are received at our headquarters. - When should I open my store?
The sign and imprint business thrives all year long, with about a 10% reduction during the December - January period. The earlier you open in the year, the longer you will have to become established, to advertise and to become involved in your community's events, and to become proficient with the software and in the business in general. - Do I need to know how to type or be good with computers?
The entire sign and imprint industry is run by computers, so understanding basic computer functions and computer terms mean are pretty much a must (or you should at least be willing to learn!), as is typing ability. If you are not computer savvy, you may want to at least take a computer class at a local community college or purchase a typing tutorial program at Staples or another office supply store. - Turn-key store option
Not everyone has the time, desire, or ability to do their own build out We provide a complete turnkey option for $198,500, This is an all inclusive set up all the way down to your business license and 1 years insurance. We hand you the keys and you open your store!
Visit our turn-key information for more information on this service. - What about setting up my store?
Imprint In Time also has a different approach to actually setting up your store. While with the other chains you can easily spend over $100k just constructing your store (not including anything else like copiers, franchise fees or rent!), Imprint In Time will show you how to do EXACTLY the same build out for around $10k! It's not magic.... When the other large chains send in their own contractors to set up your store and charge you $100k for it, the chain is probably getting some level of financial kickback in the form of handling fee or other generic phrase hidden in the mice type of the contract. We'll provide you a go by document with instructions on what to buy and a recommended source and step by step instructions on how to assemble it, and thus we can save you small fortune. Everyone has a relative, friend, or at least knows a contractor or handyman that can help them. Even if you do decide to hire a contractor, shopping around locally can save you tens of thousands of dollars and we will always help with consulting with your contractor of choice and supplying plans. - Can I send in the UFDD and payment right after I receive the UFDD?
No. You must wait at least 14 days before sending us the remainder of the pages of the UFDD (excluding the "Receipt" pages) and your payment. Take your time and do your research before making your decision. The 14-day-minimum waiting period is an FTC regulation that is designed to protect people from themselves, as many folks get wired about starting a business, and jump into it before thinking it through. We strongly recommend that you read all of our materials, do you due diligence, and take the UFDD to your accountant and your attorney so that you can make an informed decision about your financial future. We know that Imprint In Time is a great deal, and so do our franchisees...but we want you to know it too!
